Cassie Mathis,
Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist, Owner
Cassie started Baby Bear Cranial Clinic in 2020 and has been honored to help so many amazing families. She is a certified Prosthetist-Orthotist with a focus on cranial remolding helmets and pediatric orthotics.
Cassie majored in Kinesiology and Business Administration at UW Eau Claire and earned Orthotic and Prosthetic Certificates from Northwestern University and California State University - Dominguez Hills, respectively. She began working with little ones needing orthotic care in 2011 during a portion of her residency at an orthotic clinic located in Children's Hospital of WI in Milwaukee.
Cassie believes in a collaborative, team-based approach—working closely with families, physicians, physical therapists, and all others involved in a child's care. She has earned a strong reputation as one of the leading cranial orthotists in the state. Her comprehensive process includes an objective evaluation followed by appropriate recommendations, which are then discussed with the care team to determine whether to proceed with orthotic treatment, continue alternative therapies, or rule out orthotics as necessary. While improvements in head shape, gait, or deformity are important, Cassie is ultimately driven by enhancing her patients’ overall quality of life.
Beyond orthotics, Cassie is also a proud mother of 3 young boys, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a big-dream dreamer and a Believer. She is a lover of colors, design shows, and team sports.
Callie Huft,
Occupational Therapist and Certified Orthotic Assistant
Callie joined the Baby Bear team in 2022 and has brought her knowledge as an occupational therapist along with her to better serve the families we see. Callie graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2013 and has worked in a variety of settings that have ultimately led to a passion for pediatric orthotic care with a specialty in cranial remolding orthoses. Callie pursued additional training as a Certified Orthotic Assistant in 2023.
As you will quickly recognize upon entering the clinic, Callie truly loves working with kiddos and their whole families. She has a holistic, well-rounded approach to care; the root of head shape deformities can be complex, but she is here to help simplify and offer peace of mind in whatever decision is best for your family. She is a valuable resource for families who are interested in early intervention for correcting head shape, exercises for torticollis, and strategies to help babies meet developmental milestones. Callie believes that education, empowerment, and encouragement are the ingredients to a successful and life-changing treatment plan.
Outside of work, you can find Callie loving on her two young kids, enjoying nature, lovingly embracing a warm cup of coffee, or watching Friends for the hundredth time.
